Dr. Babikian specializes in the differential diagnosis of learning disabilities, attention deficit disorders, autism spectrum and related challenges, giftedness, and emotional and behavioral disorders.
She has a genuine, earnest and practical approach to her assessments, which are both comprehensive and holistic in nature. Dr. Babikian focuses on providing diagnostic clarification in a manner that will inform intervention planning that is positive and proactive. Her goal is for each family to walk away from an evaluation replacing a series of question marks with a set of clear steps they can take to help them or their child succeed academically, emotionally and socially.
Oftentimes, students need special accommodations or services in school — due to a variety of cognitive, learning or emotional difficulties — in order to better access their instruction.
When further diagnostic clarification is necessary or when parents and their child’s School District are not in agreement of a student's needs, an Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) is requested to further clarify a student’s academic profile and their needs. Dr. Babikian performs IEE evaluations for several local school districts where she reviews student records, conducts an independent neuropsychological / psychoeducational evaluation, and communicates recommendations to parents and the student’s instructional team to help design an educational plan that best serves his or her needs.
